Marvel's Wolverine, one of the highly anticipated console exclusives since its announcement, could be making a return later this year.
According to several rumours, Insomniac Games is ready to announce a new trailer for the superhero title during Sony's next State of Play, which is expected to take place at the end of September 2025.
Announced back in September 2021, Marvel's Wolverine was revealed with a very short cinematic trailer, which has left a lot of fans clamouring for more. As of right now, both Sony and Insomniac have gone quiet on the project aside from a post on Instagram confirming the game is still in active development for PS5.
Reportedly, the new trailer is completed, waiting to be showcased. PlayStation had previously hosted a State of Play focused on 007: First Light, which was the only showcase in September, however, it is possible that PlayStation hosts more than one showcase in a month, as it has done previously.
Moreover, the leaks suggest that Wolverine's release may be more towards their 2027 window, meaning fans still have a while to wait.
Even so, the possibility of a new trailer has sparked excitement across the PlayStation community. In addition, rumours indicated that Sony could use the same showcase to tease other major titles, including a new God of War entry or Bungie’s Marathon.
