Meta, in collaboration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the educational platform EYEYAH!, on Friday launched a campaign and interactive game, "Is This Legit?" in Pakistan.

The "Is This Legit?" game takes players through seven common scam types, which include romance, shopping, impersonation, investment, job, account hacking and messaging, through colourful images and real-life examples.

The game educates players on how to recognise red flags and helps them understand how scammers operate online.

PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, HI (M) SI, emphasised that the PTA will continue its mission of creating a safe, informed and empowering digital environment in Pakistan with initiatives like "Is This Legit?".

He added that this project builds on PTA and Meta's ongoing work to promote digital literacy and protect users online from scammers.

Meta Pakistan Public Policy Head Dania Mukhtar shared that the company is committed to keeping its community in Pakistan safe by removing scammers and investing in digital literacy.

“Scammers are always changing their tactics, targeting many apps and platforms all at once,” she said. “Through this campaign, we aim to help people in Pakistan identify common red flags in an interactive and engaging way, empowering them to stay safe from scams.
