The district government has taken a major step to protect public safety by suspending metro bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad because of potential protests of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan's (TLP) Gaza March on Friday.
In the twin cities, the metro bus and electric bus services have been suspended, and orders have been issued to close hotels and business centres on Murree Road.
The service suspension on the route from Sadar station to Pak Secretariat is in effect until further notice, according to Metro Bus officials.
The suspension is only temporary, according to officials, and services will start up again as soon as things settle down. Security personnel and Metro Bus employees have been told to wait for any additional orders.
Additionally, the roads that connect Rawalpindi and Islamabad have also been blocked.
Similar to this, the Punjab government has halted the Orange Line Metro Train's operations in Lahore because of security concerns.
According to sources, the train service has been suspended for the day as part of larger safety precautions in major cities.
In order to maintain law and order, police and security officers were stationed at strategic points, and a number of Orange Line stations were previously closed to passengers.
Earlier, 3G/4G mobile services were suspended until further notice, all public and private schools in Lahore have been ordered to close immediately, and Section 144 has been enforced by the Punjab government.
These services will be suspended in order to protect the public and avoid any possible disruptions. Authorities are trying to get things back to normal and make sure everyone is safe.
