As DeepSeek has proved to be a paragon of artificial intelligence (AI) assistants compared to other renowned counterparts in the AI space, Microsoft has incorporated the DeepSeek R1 model into its Azure AI Foundry platform and GitHub.

The one-of-a-kind merger of technologies is said to be executed to assist developers in deploying the economical AI model into their AI applications, as reported by The Express Tribune.

Developed by a Chinese startup, the AI chatbot has been spurring a mixture of chaos and hysteria in the AI space, though it was globally acclaimed by both experts and users.

Owing to its rapid and widespread adoption, the Chinese AI tool took over the biggest share of AI consumers worldwide, outdoing ChatGPT, a formidable contender from tech giant OpenAI, and becoming the top app across marketplaces in various countries.

One of the factors which propelled DeepSeek to the height of unmatched popularity is its $6 million development cost, which is merely a fraction of what took OpenAI and Google to develop AI models it effortlessly scolded.

DeepSeek R1 was reportedly designed by using way fewer resources, unlike an average AI chatbot which relies heavily on costly chips from the chipmaker giant Nvidia.
