National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued new regulations for citizens applying for ID cards and other documents. The new rules are meant to streamline the process and ensure citizens' private information is secured.
As per NADRA, applicants are now required to provide only original documents at NADRA centres. Photocopies are not required to be carried along with B-Forms or registration certificates. The authority specifically mentioned that relying on someone else's ID card as a surety holds no legal value and should be avoided.
NADRA's new regulations for document and ID card applications also alert citizens against bartering their fingerprints or personal information in exchange for money or prizes.
In the meantime, the guidelines are being made as part of NADRA's ongoing campaign against fraud and identity theft. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and not carry useless photocopies while visiting.
Important NADRA guidelines for citizens:
- Always bring original documents.
- No photocopies are required for B-Forms or registration certificates.
- Using someone else’s ID card as a guarantee is not allowed.
- Do not share fingerprints or personal data for any offers.
- Follow the displayed instructions at NADRA centres.
Clear instructions regarding the new guidelines have been posted at all NADRA centres across the country. Citizens are encouraged to read and follow them carefully to avoid any problems during their applications.
