Netflix has increased the price of all three subscription plans, including the Standard with advertisements, the Standard without advertisements, and the Premium tier.
This development comes the same day the streaming service reported a record-breaking 19 million new subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2024, achieving 302 million paid subscribers worldwide.
Updated Netflix subscription prices as of 2025
Starting today, the most reasonable Netflix plan now costs $7.99 per month.
- Standard with ads: $7.99 (up from $6.99) per month
- Standard without ads: $17.99 (up from $15.49) per month
- Premium: $24.99 (up from $22.99) per month
These price increments are implemented in the United States, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina.
It should be noted that the popularity of Netflix’s dystopian survival thriller, Squid Game’s Season 2, contributed significantly to the surge in subscriptions, with the show's premiere attracting a record-breaking 68 million views within its first week, making it Netflix’s most-watched debut to date.
However, Netflix has credited its recent success to the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul boxing match held in November that drew 108 million viewers globally, making it the most-streamed sporting event ever.
Additionally, the streaming platform hosted two Christmas Day NFL games, which minted 30 million global viewers, becoming the most-streamed football games in history.
