A major update to Instagram's music-sharing features has been released, enabling users to share Spotify songs with audio previews straight on stories.

Previously, shared Spotify music would only display a link to the streaming service without any audio.

While Instagram has long allowed users to share music from Spotify, one significant drawback has been the absence of audio previews. This update resolves that problem and gives users a more engaging experience.

This development also comes after Instagram Notes launched a similar feature that allows users to stream Spotify music directly, displaying their musical preferences in real time.

Additionally, Instagram is establishing itself as a music discovery hub by enhancing its music features, which may boost user engagement and make it more competitive with TikTok.

Given the popularity of music-driven content on competing platforms, Instagram's entry into the music-sharing space may turn out to be a calculated move.

Instagram's new fonts to enhance experience

Instagram is launching new fonts for Reels and Stories. A limited-edition font based on singer-songwriter Rosalía's handwriting was developed in partnership with her.

Notably, users can add a creative touch to their content by typing specific characters to unlock secret symbols, such as ” :-) “, ***,” and “<3”, that Rosalía has hand-drawn. Both Instagram users and the artist's admirers are likely to find this creative feature appealing.

Instagram's most recent changes show the company's dedication to improving user experience and maintaining its competitiveness in the rapidly changing online market.

Users can anticipate a more creative and interesting platform experience with these new features.
