Adobe has launched "Project Indigo," an advanced camera app designed especially for iPhone users seeking professional-grade images from their smartphones.

This cutting-edge app creates detailed and high-quality images by combining up to 32 frames into a single image using computational photography and artificial intelligence (AI).

Project Indigo aims to eliminate the common “smartphone look,” photos that often appear overly bright, flat, and lacking in contrast.

To give users greater creative control, the app includes full manual settings for adjusting focus, ISO, exposure time, aperture, and white balance.

This level of customisation makes it ideal for both casual users and photography enthusiasts.

The app features two main shooting modes: Photo Mode for daytime use and Night Mode for low-light conditions.

Night Mode employs longer exposure times and captures more frames per shot to reduce noise, improve image stabilisation, and minimise blur from hand movement.

Project Indigo also works with Adobe's Camera Raw and Lightroom applications and can take pictures in both standard dynamic range (SDR) and high dynamic range (HDR).

Project Indigo is available for free on the iPhone App Store and does not require users to sign in. It supports Apple’s Pro models from the iPhone 12 series through the iPhone 14 and later non-Pro devices.

Adobe also plans to roll out a similar version for Android users in the near future, further expanding access to its cutting-edge mobile photography tools.
