
Nothing CEO Carl Pei has dropped some hints about a brand-new smartphone this week in a social media post. It seems like the rumoured Nothing Phone 2a might be hitting the market pretty soon.
In a cobweb of rumours flooding the internet by some reliable tipsters, there’s an indication that the UK startup led by Pei is up to a budget-friendly version of the Nothing Phone 2.
If the claim is to be believed, we might get a sneak peek at the affordable handset during the company's event at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024) scheduled on February 27th.

Taking to his official account on X (formerly Twitter), the company’s CEO confirmed that a new smartphone is in the development stage. He accompanied the social media post with an image, visually seeming like a cutout that resembled a dragon featured in a popular cartoon series.
Nothing Phone 2a release date
Considering that Chinese New Year, observed on February 10, also marks the new year of the Wood Dragon, the phone might debut on Feb.
Pei's announcement doesn't reflect the specific name or model of the upcoming phone, there's no scoop on the launch date either.
However, this development has made the enthusiasts mark calendars for the company's event called "Nothing to See" on February 27 at MWC 2024. The rumoured Nothing Phone 2a was displayed on the BIS India website, suggesting its debut in the country soon.
Nothing Phone 2a key specs
A week ago, a tipster named Roland Quandt (@rquandt) from WinFuture shared information about the upcoming Nothing Phone 2a on X (formerly Twitter).
His leak suggested that the device will come in two versions: one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and another with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will be available in Black and White colours. The Nothing Phone 2a reportedly features a dual rear camera arrangement, consisting of a primary 50-megapixel Samsung S5KNG9 sensor (1/1.5-inch) and a secondary 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 sensor (1/2.76-inch) equipped with an ultrawide lens.
Additionally, the phone is said to come with a 32-megapixel selfie camera housing a Sony IMX615 sensor, suitable for capturing selfies and engaging in video calls. Further details about the Nothing Phone 2a are anticipated to be revealed by the company in the weeks leading up to its expected launch.
