Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6 EVs set to launch in Pakistan

Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6 EVs launching Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) industry is set to receive a major boost as Omoda and Jaecoo officially launch their electric SUVs, the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6 on Friday.

The launch will be done in partnership with domestic assembler of Hyundai vehicles, Nishat Group, and Chinese company, Chery International.

Omoda E5 features

The Omoda E5 is all about the fusion of stylised design and smart electric mobility. A car with a 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor with 340 Nm of torque that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds.

A 61 kWh battery with a greater driving range, a 24.6-inch curved infotainment screen, and an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite that includes lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring features.

Jaecoo J6 features

The Jaecoo J6 will be offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The RWD version delivers 135 kW with 220 Nm of torque, while the AWD version ramps up to 205 kW and 385 Nm.

Moreover, it offers two battery options (65.6 kWh and 69.8 kWh), providing a range of up to 501 km. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes just 30 minutes. Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS, EBD, and stability control.
