OpenAI integrated new features and upgrades to its flagship ChatGPT app, while there are small changes involving adjustments to how a model responds earlier the company secretly launched a new version of GPT-4o.
According to the reports, ChatGPT had a “secret update” as its responses felt different, quicker, and more responsive than was earlier the case but this was just anecdotal.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), OpenAI stated: "There's a new GPT-4o model out in ChatGPT since last week,” adding the message, “hope you all are enjoying it and check it out if you haven't! we think you'll like it."
What's new in ChatGPT?
OpenAI hasn't confirmed anything officially beyond the X post which has headed to wild speculation on social media. Some users think it is an update to GPT-4o Large, an anticipated bigger version of GPT-4o or GPT-4o mini.

Moreover, OpenAI tends to check new models in the Large Model Systems Organisation (LMSys) chatbot arena, where humans blind-rate two models head-to-head. There’s a prominent unidentified chatbot in the arena that is now anticipated as the upgrade to GPT-4o.
How to access new model of GPT-4o?
The leading artificial intelligence (AI) firm said the new model just revamped the current version of GPT-4o inside ChatGPT so accessing it is as easy as seeing the ChatGPT website or opening the app and chatting.
However, it’s still not clear whether the upgrade also applies to GPT-4o mini but it’s expected that this is only the full GPT-4o as OpenAI said on X that it is offered for free users with a message limit.
You’ll be required a $20-a-month subscription to ChatGPT Plus to push the model to the limit, while you’ll receive limited messages per day to try it out for free. If you run out of messages limit OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4o and don’t want to update you can switch to GPT-4o mini, a fine-tuned smaller version of GPT-4o.
