OpenAI has acquired Statsig, a top experimentation platform, to improve its product testing and experimentation capabilities.
Statsig CEO and founder Vijaye Raji will become the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Applications at OpenAI as a result of the acquisition. He will answer to Applications CEO Fidji Simo.
"Vijaye Raji is an excellent fit for this role because of his vast experience creating large-scale consumer products, which includes his prior position at Meta." Raji's leadership skills were commended by Simo.
He said, "Vijaye has an impressive track record of developing new consumer and B2B products and systems at scale.
"His leadership will help transform that advancement into safe applications that give people a plethora of new tools to enhance their lives. He is joining at a time when our models are opening up completely new avenues for building."
For advanced businesses like OpenAI, Statsig is a reliable experimentation platform that powers A/B testing, feature flagging, and real-time decisioning.
Through this acquisition, OpenAI hopes to improve user experiences and speed up experimentation throughout its applications organisation.
"Joining OpenAI as CTO of Applications is an extraordinary opportunity to bring my experience scaling consumer and enterprise products to a mission I deeply believe in: advancing AI in ways that are capable of solving hard problems, reliable, and truly beneficial to people everywhere," Raji said, expressing his excitement about the opportunity to join OpenAI.
Following the acquisition, Statsig will continue to serve its current clientele from its Seattle office on an independent basis.
To maintain continuity and concentrate on their areas of expertise, Statsig staff will switch to OpenAI.
This calculated action improves both consumer-facing and enterprise AI offerings by fortifying OpenAI's product testing and experimentation capabilities.
