OpenAI announced the expansion of the ChatGPT Search feature, its AI-powered web tool, to all ChatGPT users on Monday.
The rollout of the ChatGPT Search feature took place during a host of live-streamed product launches by OpenAI, spanning 12 days. Previously, the feature was only accessible to ChatGPT premium subscribers.

Originally released in October, the ChatGPT Search utilises a fine-tuned version of OpenAI's GPT-4o model to provide users with summarised answers from various online sources.
ChatGPT Search also provides rich content such as embedded photos and YouTube videos. Users can access ChatGPT Search by tapping the "Search the web" icon in the ChatGPT interface.
Moreover, the latest update improves ChatGPT Search’s speed and adds the ability to set it as the default search engine for any web browser.
ChatGPT users on smartphones can now view better-organised business information, including addresses and phone numbers.
Additionally, ChatGPT Search is now available in Advanced Voice Mode, OpenAI's real-time conversational feature for ChatGPT. This means that users will soon be able to access up-to-date web information while using Advanced Voice Mode on mobile and PCs.
Among other announcements, OpenAI also introduced a new premium subscription tier, ChatGPT Pro, and Sora, an AI-powered video generation tool.
