In the latest advancement, OpenAI released ChatGPT Agent, an innovative artificial intelligence tool built to carry out particular tasks on its own.

Through this advanced feature, a variety of tasks, such as calendar analysis, meal planning, and slide deck creation, can be performed by ChatGPT Agent, according to OpenAI.

With the help of a virtual computer, the AI tool can easily navigate websites, launch apps, and finish tasks.

Users can ask the ChatGPT Agent to "plan and buy ingredients to make Japanese breakfast for four" or "look at my calendar and brief me on upcoming client meetings based on recent news."

Despite conflicting initial reactions, ChatGPT Agent has demonstrated promise in handling multi-step processes. It can be slow to finish tasks, though, according to some users.

For instance, OpenAI's research lead, Isa Fulford, admitted that ordering cupcakes took an hour, but she still said it saved her time because she "didn't want to do it."

One of ChatGPT Agent's notable features that provides useful information about the AI's decision-making process is the "replay" feature, which allows users to review the steps taken to complete a task.

ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Team plan subscribers will have access to ChatGPT Agent via "agent mode." Later this summer, OpenAI intends to make the feature available to ChatGPT Enterprise and Education users.

In the tech sector, the creation of AI agents such as ChatGPT Agent is becoming more and more popular.

Due to quality concerns, some businesses have chosen to go back to using human operators for customer service, while others, like Klarna, have experimented with AI agents.

It will be interesting to observe how ChatGPT Agent and related tools influence productivity and work in the future as AI technology develops further.
