
The Pakistan Digital City project in Haripur is set to transform the country's digital economy. The project aims to create extensive employment opportunities for youth and strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global digital economy.
Shafqat Iqbal, special assistant to the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for Science and Technology, shared his views during a visit to the project site, emphasising the importance of transparency and high standards throughout the project's execution.
Digital development milestone for Pakistan
The Pakistan Digital City project is seen as a milestone in realising Pakistan’s vision for digital development. It is expected to serve as a driving force for technological and innovation-led development in the country.
The project will create world-class opportunities for youth and establish Pakistan as a hub of digital advancement.
Prominent political figures, including the National Assembly opposition leader Umar Ayub Khan, local government provincial minister Arshad Ayub Khan, and provincial parliamentary leader and DDAC chairman Akbar Ayub Khan also paid a visit to the visit.
Retired Colonel Tauqeer briefed the delegation on the project's progress and future goals.
Recognising the importance of the initiative, opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan announced an additional Rs200 million to ensure the project’s timely and quality-driven completion.
He termed the project an innovation for KP and a significant step toward elevating Pakistan’s technological sector to global standards.
Provincial minister Arshad Ayub Khan and DDAC chairman Akbar Ayub Khan expressed commitment to supporting the initiative. They assured the government would provide all necessary assistance to ensure its success.
