A high-level meeting was convened at the Railways Headquarters in Lahore, led by Minister of Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, resulting in the announcement of a new train service aimed at advancing citizen mobility.
The meeting reviewed the security railway operations, especially in Balochistan. Officials briefed the ministers on measures being applied to strengthen security across the network.
The meeting also approved a joint crackdown against encroachments on railway land. For this purpose, the National Constabulary and Railways Police will actively work together, while the Interior Minister assured that Frontier Constabulary (FC) will provide full support.
Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi stated that the security of railway lines and passenger safety are the top priority of the government.
He noted that no compromise will be made on these matters. He appreciated recent measures by Pakistan Railways to improve services.
