An artificial intelligence (AI) startup Perplexity has launched a Shopping Hub to attract users' attention and challenge Google’s dominance in the search engine market.
The startup is backed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and AI chipmaker Nvidia.
Perplexity Shopping Hub features
This feature will display relevant items according to the shopping-related questions, and each card displayed on the screen will show the visual format of the product details.
The Shopping Hub is merged with Shopify, which provides access to products' recent information directly from the business platforms especially the ones shipping to the US.

The new Shopping Hub on Perplexity also entails a feature called "Snap to Shop". It is a visual searching feature that identifies the product by the snapped pictures uploaded by users, similar to that of the Google Lens.
Perplexity Shopping Hub launch date
The Shopping Hub by Perplexity has initially been launched in the US with plans to expand all around the world; however, the launch date for a wider rollout has not been disclosed yet.
Shopping Hub also offers a "Merchant Program" to allow merchants to showcase their products and gain more sales through e-commerce.
Perplexity faces a challenge from its competitors as the recent ChatGPT update includes new searching functionalities. The startup’s valuation is aiming to raise around $9 billion in funds.
