A sharp fall in global crude oil prices could translate into significant relief for Pakistani consumers, as petroleum product prices are likely to drop from December 1.

According to industry sources, the initial summary has been prepared in light of global market trends. Petrol would become cheaper by Rs3.75 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) could decrease by Rs6.10 per litre.

You may see the price of Kerosene drop by Rs0.73 per litre, and light diesel oil (LDO) may become cheaper by Rs6.35 per litre.

The Ministry of Finance will announce updated prices from December 1 till December 15 on Sunday (November 30) after consultation with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

If petroleum prices are reduced, household budgets, particularly for low- and middle-income families — who are already struggling with high inflation — will be benefited.
