
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday launched the province's first Mobile Police Station and Licensing Unit that will help citizens register FIRs, etc.
The Mobile Police Station is designed to provide multiple public services, including the registration of FIRs, issuance and renewal of driving licenses, and other essential facilities.
Speaking on the occassion, the CM said: “Our government is committed to ensuring that every woman in Punjab feels safe, respected, and supported.” She directed the staff to adopt a friendly attitude towards the public.
According to the officials, the Mobile Police Station will offer services for learner, regular, international, and women’s driving licenses. This initiative aims to bring police and licensing services directly to citizens’ on their doorsteps, saving them both time and travel.
Officials said this service will specifically benefit people living in remote areas who often face challenges travelling to district offices for license renewals. The initiative is expected to make the process of filing complaints and obtaining licenses far more convenient across Punjab.
