Since Starlink's debut, most of the worries around it had to do with affordability, mainly because of its costly packages, but SpaceX seems to have set this worry aside in a bid to make Starlink satellite internet affordable, launching a new initiative called Starlink Community.

Starlink Community is aimed at making satellite internet access more affordable by allowing multiple subscribers on a single Starlink dish terminal.

This model enables “one Starlink, multiple subscribers,” with each subscriber maintaining their own Starlink account and enjoying a seamless experience.

Although SpaceX has not officially announced the launch, details were spotted on Starlink.com, revealing a placeholder page for the Community plan with a monthly price of £60, a lot cheaper than the current Residential Lite (£80) and Standard Residential (£120) plans.

The Community model differs from traditional Starlink service, allowing multiple subscribers to connect through their own Wi-Fi routers to a single shared dish and network switch.

Apart from this, a “Community Hotspot” variant is expected to offer short-term connectivity for a single device, though further details are limited.

The programme may first roll out internationally, with speculation that it will target developing or underserved regions.

In May this year, SpaceX hinted at the Community initiative to international resellers and installers, indicating that the deployment and maintenance of Community sites will be taken care of by local partners

A reseller support page reportedly expressed enthusiasm for collaborating to provide affordable, high-speed internet while offering commissions for each subscriber.
