According to statistics shared by Downdetector — an outage tracking website — the Bytedance-owned short video platform stopped working on July 27, 2024, for tens of thousands of users around the world.

To reflect on the most affected element of the app, TikTok comments are not loading for numerous users on the sidelines of the entire service being under a failover.

Surprisingly, another video streaming platform, although less popular than the China-based TikTok, called Rumble was reported to be down at the same time.

If comments are not loading on TikTok for you, be aware that you're not the only user encountered such a mishap, as complaints lodged from frequent TikTok users inflated almost all social media platforms, demanding an immediate inquiry into the downtime and a quick solution.

If examined from a political point of view, the timing of the outage coincided with that of a heated debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
