Google is said to integrate cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) assistant for Volkswagen (VW) drivers in a mobile app. Alphabet-owned Google is strategically pushing the boundaries into incorporating enterprise AI applications to streamline business in the automobile industry.
Travellers could ask Volkswagen's in-app assistant “How do I change a flat tire?” or even direct their smartphone cameras to the car’s infotainment display to get the relevant information.
The AI assistant efficiently utilises cloud computing power, Google's Gemini large language models, and other programs that make predictions, responding to human languages that adequately revolutionise vehicle maintenance.

The VW tool was efficiently developed by integrating colossal data including Volkswagen owner’s manuals and YouTube videos on the car’s maintenance to Gemini.
Moreover, Google has incorporated a few significant multimodal capabilities in the recently introduced devices and is deeply focused on strengthening these abilities. Recently, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian spoke to Reuters and said that the product needs to conquer a few technical issues that come across in multimodality, the capability to process data types including videos, text, photos, and more.
"The problem looks superficially simple, but it’s technically very complex,” Kurian said. “Most people think what we built is a speech-to-text translation system that then looks up a manual. Absolutely not,” Kurian added.
The AI assistant is gratuitous and is currently accessible to around 120,000 drivers of Volkswagen’s Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models, which is all set to be introduced in the other cars from the model year 2020 and later from the first quarter of 2025.
Moreover, AI solutions have successfully driven great insights and generated lucrative profits in the current year, according to Google.
