WhatsApp has released the latest camera update for iOS users, which includes features to apply AR effects, backgrounds, and filters directly from the camera settings.

A select group of iOS users can explore these new buttons to enable augmented reality effects, filters, and backgrounds directly from the camera interface.

Users can access these features by opening the camera and selecting the “wand” icon to effortlessly utilize these effects. Once enabled, users can apply animated effects such as confetti, stars, and more.

In addition, users can leverage this feature to modify facial expressions and adjust the colour tones of their videos according to their preferences from an extensive array of colours.

Moreover, there is a “Touch Up Mode” that enhances facial appearance by smoothing skin tones and removing minor imperfections, enabling users to achieve a refreshed look in video calls.

This significant update also includes a “Low Light Mode” feature that adjusts brightness and contrast, improving visibility in dimly-lit settings.

Currently, this update is available to a limited number of beta testers and can be installed through the iOS App Store.
