WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging apps, is constantly updating its features with new advancements to enhance user experience. This time the company has revised an update for its ‘Status’ feature.
However, the latest Android beta version, 2.24.14.2, has redesigned status preview feature to make it easier for the user to view updates from family and friends.
What’s new?
The new feature allows the users to see a preview of status updates on the app without even clicking on them, making it easier for the users to decide whether to view the update in full or move on to the next one.
Interestingly, with this new update the preview thumbnail will be now displayed on the right side of our screen, providing a cleaner and better look.

This significant move of announcing a new design marks improvements over the previous version, where status preview would obscure the profile photo, making it difficult to recognise contacts.
The users who follow channels on the app will be able to see the status updates organised horizontally. Whereas, those users who haven’t followed any channels will see a vertical list with a redesigned thumbnail for previews, which makes it easier for the users to navigate and engage with updates.
The new feature is currently available only on the Android beta version 2.24.14.2, but it is expected to roll out to all users soon in the stable version.
