
WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its media-sharing capabilities. The app has recently introduced new feature that allows users to set HD quality as default when sending photos and videos in an WhatsApp chat.
Through this feature upgrade users would be able to share a high-resolution media without compromising on quality, making it exciting development for WhatsApp's vast user base.
Previously, WhatsApp offered the users an "HD Photos" feature that offers to users to share photos and videos in their original resolution with lower compression. However, this option was optional and had to be selected, every time a user wanted to send an HD photo.

Interestingly, now with this latest update users can effectively set HD quality as default, ensuring that all of their photos and videos will be shared in a high-resolution quality without any additional steps.
How to set HD photos and video option as default
To access the default feature, users must go to the Storage and Data menu in the settings of the messaging app and select the "HD" option. This will ensure that all media including photos and videos, sent through WhatsApp are in high resolution, making it ideal for every user who want to share their favourite moments with friends and family without compromising on quality.
This newly introduced feature works with videos and is accessible to users of both iOS and Android devices. Videos are sent in 720p resolution when enabled, a major improvement over the 480p resolution that was previously used.
