Currently, users have to rely on third-party apps to translate messages, as there is no built-in translation feature within WhatsApp. With the integration of Google’s live translation technology, translations could be done on-device, ensuring that conversations remain private and are not sent to the cloud or any external sources.

Users will need to download language packs to enable this feature, ensuring they have access to translations in their preferred languages. Initially, the live translation feature may be limited to certain languages like English, with more options to be added in future updates.

According to WABetaInfo, the new feature is currently available for some Android beta testers in app update version 2.24.15.8. This feature could be a real game changer for those who communicate with people across the world.
