Meta-owned instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is working on a new feature which will allow users to manage WhatsApp updates from within the app settings.
The news came as a sigh of relief for the users who do not want to update their apps.
WhatsApp’s new feature is currently accessible to some beta testers as it is available via the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.2.13 update on the Google Play Store.
It allows users to either choose whether WhatsApp updates itself automatically over WiFi when a new version becomes available, or opt to receive alerts when the new version is ready for download.

According to WABetaInfo, devices that have Meta App Manager preinstalled (some OxygenOS devices, for instance) only they can avail of this option while users of various operating systems or devices that do not currently have the Meta App Manager application preinstalled might not be able to access this particular update management feature through the app settings.
It should be noted that for devices that didn't come with Meta App Manager preinstalled, manually installing the programme will not allow this specific update management feature.
Users can already choose for apps to update automatically when new versions are released through the Google Play Store. However, some OxygenOS beta testers and users of other device models, still have control over whether or not they receive update notifications.
