While smartphones have become ubiquitous, the scarcity of remarkable phone cameras has led to an abundance of good camera smartphones. In light of this trend, the stage appears set for Honor's future phones, which are rumoured to feature massive 200MP cameras.
A fresh leak has surfaced online, suggesting that Honor is preparing to undergo a major camera transition, planning to equip all upcoming premium devices with 200MP main cameras.
This bold move indicates that the company is committed to incorporating high-resolution imaging, something which the 200MP sensors, slated to debut on the Magic8 series and the Magic V6 foldable next year, will optimally deliver. The Magic8 Ultra is most likely to feature a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
Other rumours indicate that Honor has ordered these sensors in bulk, which means a long-term strategy is in place.
What further substantiates Honor's 200MP move is the recently launched Magic V5, which just made its global debut, and the company has confirmed that the Magic8 lineup will arrive between October and December.
With several high-end launches expected soon, Honor seems determined to position itself in the competitive mobile photography market.
