YouTube Music's latest update boasts several exciting features that enhance the music streaming experience. One of the newest features allows users to sync queues, so they can pick up where they left off in the cell phone application directly on the web app.
This means closing the web client or switching devices would not reset the mini-player and Up Next queue. The Progressive Web App (PWA) remembers instead the last song played and queues so you can resume playing quickly.
In addition, since the loading of mobile queue no longer causes issues with the transitions between devices, the one-way sync removes the web queue and replaces it with the last known mobile queue. As such, its users would always have the most recent playback history.

The mini-player within the YouTube web app indicates what song is playing, so users can navigate through it easily and control the playback.
How to test this YouTube feature:
To check if this feature is live for you:
- Dismiss the queue on both web and phone apps
- Start playing some music from your phone (Android or iOS)
- Open YouTube to see the mini-player populated
Other notable updates on YouTube include a redesigned progress bar with a distinct pinkish hue towards the tail-end of the line. These enhancements show YouTube Music's commitment to providing a cohesive and seamless experience across devices.
Some of the key benefits from these features would be:
- Seamless playback across the device
- Easy queue management and navigation
- Ease of using the cross-device experience
- Efficient music streaming
- Intuitive user interface design
