YouTube is set to launch a new Shorts user interface (UI) that is said to be changed by the Dislike button with Save.
The company has said to be testing the change with a restricted group of mobile users before committing to a potential worldwide launch. The users of this experiment will no longer find the Dislike button on the player’s main view.
However, they can unveil it by tapping the three-dot menu. Unlike opt-in YouTube Premium experiments, this update has been applied to random users.
This change is claimed to encourage users to add more videos to their playlists by bringing the Save button to the main interface. With the fast-paced nature of YouTube Shorts, many testers are expected to start using the Save button more often.

When hitting the Save button, you are required to include the video in a new or existing YouTube playlist you own. This makes it simpler to rewatch relevant content you’ve come across later on. Moreover, you can also connect a friend to your playlists allowing them to view the Shorts you’re adding at their convenience.
It is important to note that this is a limited test, and it’s unclear if Google will officially launch the change to all users or axe it altogether.
