Eager to somehow peep into details about the next Apple Watch SE, presumed to be called Apple Watch SE 3, tensions are running high among wearable enthusiasts on the internet.

With some anticipating spec bump and others bracing for a design change, it appears that the iPhone maker is about to retrace its history to the delight of the latter segment: a redesign is expected on the latest Apple Watch SE 3, as highlighted in a recent leak emerged on the internet.

Citing Mark Gurman's latest PowerOn newsletter, Digital Trends noted that the upcoming iteration of the Apple Watch SE is likely to undergo a design refresh. “A fresh version of the lower-end SE model will sport a new look,” said the Bloomberg correspondent.

While Gurman did not disclose insights into the wearable, an earlier Bloomberg report hinted at aluminium casing replacing the existing plastic.

“Perhaps it’s looking to get the cost down,” read the report. Although it's not certain whether Apple will drop the price of the next generation of Apple Watch SE, possibilities are high that going with plastic would help the company adjust the cost of higher-end, more expensive components.

Assuming that Apple opts for a plastic chassis, it remains to be seen how and what the build quality will look and feel like, compared to the aluminium chassis Apple has been using so far.

It's said that choosing plastic over aluminium would make it easier to scrape the surface of the gadget, however, it might not take a toll on its exquisite exterior as is the case of aluminium.
