In a bid to digitalise the voting mechanism in the country, CDC Share Registrar Services Limited (CDCSRSL), a subsidiary of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited, has launched e-voting through WhatsApp.

The remarkable electronic innovation by the CDS subsidiary comes in line with the government's leaps and bounds towards nationwide digitalisation, as the Digital Nation Bill was recently approved in the Senate.

Citing the company's press release, The News reported that the WhatsApp e-voting system will simplify the voting process, making it easier and user-friendly for shareholders/members to navigate the voting process efficiently.

Incorporating the widely used instant messaging platform into the e-voting system, the technologically equipped innovation reflects the company's commitment to increasing voters' participation while ensuring transparency and the highest standards of security against rigging.

Since its very foundation, CDCSRSL has been gaining traction for launching numerous technology-oriented services, including the launch of its web-based system in 2017.

For enabling individuals to register and vote using smartphones from the comfort of their homes, the e-voting system has been widely acclaimed in the industry, as the company has been continuously developing new features catering to its diverse client needs.

In recent polls conducted for the company's major clients, the WhatsApp e-voting feature proved to be a reliable and successful system.
