In the midst of an online buzz about an allegedly extraordinary crypto robber at Karachi airport, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has dismissed reports of a cryptocurrency theft worth USD 850,000 at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

The clarification comes on the heels of a joint investigation with the Airport Security Force (ASF) and local police after a passenger named Faizyab lodged a complaint.

As per the complaint, Faizyab alleged that four uniformed individuals took him to a separate room, seized his phone, accessed his passwords, and transferred cryptocurrency from his digital wallets.

To verify these claims, the PAA and ASF reviewed CCTV footage and airport records, with the investigation revealing no evidence of the alleged theft.

The surveillance footage showed no such incident, and the complainant had not reported the theft to airport authorities at the time, said the airport authority.

Besides, it was also reported that Faizyab was marked as a “no-show” for his flight scheduled to Peshawar, and a police report submitted to the court also confirmed that no theft had occurred at the airport.

With the evidence indicating no wrongdoing, authorities have closed the case, and the PAA has clarified that all relevant footage and documents were thoroughly examined with no irregularities found.
