In an effort to streamline the driving licence application process for the general public, Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a new facility under the driving licence campaign, allowing citizens to obtain a learner permit immediately.

The traffic police began the second phase of the driving licence campaign in response to directives from the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad.

This phase was implemented to save drivers' time and prevent lengthy lines at licensing offices.

Citizens can now get their learner permits directly at city checkpoints, according to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Hamza Humayun.

He disclosed that special "facilitation vans" will be available at the checkpoints for the Foreign Office, G-14, Zero Point, and Faizabad.

Drivers without permits will be able to apply for and obtain them immediately at the checkpoints, which will make life easier for the general public.

He went on to say that "those caught driving without a licence or permit will now have the opportunity to obtain a valid learner permit on the spot instead of facing penalties".

The Islamabad Traffic Police's action is a component of their larger goal to enhance traffic control and advance road safety in the capital.
