Pakistani-origin tech leader Mehwish Salman Ali has been selected as a member of the Forbes Technology Council, a prestigious global think tank.
She is the only female IT expert and the fourth technology professional of Pakistani origin to be listed in this elite network.
As a member of the Forbes Technology Council, she will shape leading executives and policymakers and highlight Pakistan's increasing contribution to emerging technologies.
Mehwish was born and brought up in Pakistan and later moved to the UAE and Saudi Arabia. She has also contributed immensely to the tech sector, such as opening the first women-owned solar-powered data centre in Pakistan, and started Data Vault, a firm merging sustainability, security, and innovation to provide sophisticated data solutions.
Beyond infrastructure, Mehwish is also at the forefront of AI innovation. She is currently involved in generative AI and automation initiatives, enabling companies to enhance security using intelligent technology.
Moreover, her efforts are designed to make Pakistan a major player in AI-led transformation, demonstrating that local talent can compete with the best globally.
Apart from her technological contributions, Mehwish is also actively involved in mentoring and investing in startups.
Mehwish encourages women in tech via SheEarns, a programme offering training and financial assistance to women. SheEarns supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enhancing gender equality and economic independence.
