The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) on Tuesday announced a revised price of the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) single-phase smart meter, excluding General Sales Tax (GST), which will be applied separately.

According to LESCO officials, the Material Management Department has sent a formal letter to the Director of Customer Services before issuing the purchase order.

The circular also mentioned that cable charges will be collected according to the price list issued by the Regional Store Manager's office.

According to officials, LESCO has set the price of the single-phase smart meter at Rs14,786. With the latest price revision, the amount of the demand notice for consumers looking for new single-phase smart meter installations is expected to increase.

Consumers are likely to pay around Rs20,000 in total — including taxes and additional costs — for the installation of a single-phase smart meter.

LESCO has currently outsourced the procurement process for single-phase smart meters to external suppliers.

With the latest price of smart meters, the Lahore-based electric company aims to provide reliable, uninterrupted electricity and promote energy conservation within its jurisdiction.
