HP has unveiled a new HP Print AI, the industry’s first artificial intelligence (AI) powered printer, designed to change how the world prints.

The new HP Print AI comes with an output feature that provides clean-up printouts of webpages, by detecting unwanted content such as ads, and allows users to print desired text and images only.

“We are transforming the printing experience with HP Print AI, making it easier and more intuitive by introducing AI solutions across our portfolio that will simplify printing, ignite creativity, and accelerate collaboration – all while ensuring customer data is protected and kept private. This is our first step in setting a new standard for printing," stated HP President of Imaging, Printing, and Solutions Tuan Tran.

Additionally, the HP Print AI utilises natural language and contextual awareness, remembering users’ preferences and past queries resulting in simplified and tailored support for individual users.

The Print AI will be available as a plug-in for the Chrome browser and Microsoft Office programs. Reportedly, HP is planning to integrate chatbot directly into the software necessary to run HP printers, eliminating the need to install the plug-in.

Currently, HP has rolled out the AI printer to select beta testers. However, HP has yet to decide about HP Print AI’s potential cost and what printers will support it. The company also revealed its plans to launch several new Print AI features throughout 2025.
