Hungary and Pakistan have agreed to remove visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders, making travel easier between the two countries.

The two countries signed an agreement during the one-day visit of Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó to Islamabad.

Hungary and Pakistan's visa-free deal

Foreign Minister Szijjártó arrived in Pakistan at the invitation of his counterpart, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He was accompanied by a high-level business delegation. The primary objective of the visit was to explore business opportunities in Pakistan and enhance Hungary-Pakistan relations.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Ishaq Dar, Szijjártó said, “We are happy that we were able to sign the agreement to lift visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders. We have done this because we want our relations to grow stronger.”

As per the Foreign Office, this visa-free arrangement will enhance diplomatic travel and further open doors for cooperation. It will facilitate easier travel for officials from both nations to visit one another for work, meetings, and events.

Along with the visa accord, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have also been signed. These MoUs are centred on cultural and archaeological cooperation. Both nations have agreed to collaborate in order to protect historical monuments and exchange cultures.
