Meta is improving its technology, by introducing more innovative features for its users. Reportedly, the tech giant is testing a new feature for its Quest headsets that allows the users to place windows freely, similar to the Apple Vision Pro.
The new feature is currently available to the beta testers only for a time being, enhancing the spatial computing experience and multitasking to a next level. However, this upgrade bridges the gap of Meta with its technology and Apple’s Vision for spatial computing.
What is expected?
Meta’s new feature allows the users to move up to three windows from the 2D apps around their space and keep another three docked. Windows can be moved freely, but their placement is limited to a certain amount of distance and could be reset if a user switches orientation or resets the view.

Additionally, the users can also switch between curved and flat windows alongside with adjusting the brightness of virtual environments. While the Apple Vision Pro’s features are quite similar to the Meta’s latest feature, yet it doesn’t match its capabilities.
If both of the devices are to be compared then the Vision Pro allows locking the windows in place even when user moves around or takes off the headset, offering a more immersive experience. However, Meta's approach is more affordable and accessible than Apple’s Vision, making spatial computing available to a wider audience.
