The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Wednesday announced a system upgrade, with an aim to enhance its services for citizens.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nadra said that online services, including the Pak-ID app and mobile applications, will be impacted — unavailable on November 2 (Sunday) — from 8:00am to 8:30am.

Meanwhile all Nadra registration centres across Pakistan will remain closed from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Nadra officials said that this upgrade is aimed at providing improved, faster, and more efficient services to the citizens. Citizens are advised to understand and show some patience during the temporary disruption, assuring that all services will resume shortly.

A day earlier, the government announce a major facility that Pakistanis can get their first Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) for free within 15 days.

According to Nadra, if you have turned 18 years of age, then you are advised to visit nearest centre — apply for CNIC — complete the process, and get your first CNIC for free without paying any fee. It should be noted that your first CNIC will be issued without chip.
