Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to expand its flight operations with the launch of a new route from Sialkot to Riyadh.
Sialkot International Airport spokesperson confirmed that the new route is expected to facilitate thousands of passengers, specifically from the central Punjab region, who frequently travel to Saudi Arabia for work and family visits.
It is worth noting that the new route from Sialkot to Riyadh is set to begin on August 5, 2025.
Previously, PIA announced a special 10% Azadi discount for flights operating from Canada to Pakistan in celebration of Independence Day.
Notably, the offer is valid for bookings made until July 31, 2025, and applies to “Executive Economy and Economy Class tickets.”
The initiative is part of PIA’s ongoing effort to connect the diaspora community with Pakistan, particularly during the national holiday season.
Meanwhile, in a major development, PIA is preparing to resume direct flights to the United Kingdom (UK), following a long pause due to previously imposed air safety restrictions.
Notably, British authorities have now cleared Pakistani carriers, paving the way for PIA’s UK operations to relaunch soon.
It is important to note that these moves signal a strong comeback for the national carrier, which aims to rebuild trust and enhance connectivity for Pakistanis globally.
