
In a significant effort to promote a resilient digital future for Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Huawei have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, strengthening their commitment to improving the country’s cybersecurity realm.
According to a news release, the agreement is centred around knowledge sharing, capacity building, and launching cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
The attendees of the signing ceremony include PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, COMSTECH Coordinator General Iqbal Choudry, Huawei President Global Cybersecurity and Privacy Department Jeff Wang, Huawei Pakistan CEO Ethan Sun, Ahmed Bilal Masud, Director Subsidiary Board & Deputy CEO at Huawei, Sultan Mahmood, Chief Security Officer at Huawei Gulf North, and Huawei Pakistan Vice CEO Yu Shaoning.
While appreciating Huawei’s unwavering commitment and efforts, Chairman PTA emphasised the role of public-private collaborations in addressing rising cyber threats and promoting a secure digital ecosystem.
Jeff Wang underscored Huawei’s dedication to fostering cybersecurity in Pakistan, ensuring a sustainable digital infrastructure.
