Samsung is allegedly in talks with well-known artificial intelligence (AI) vendors, such as OpenAI and Perplexity, as part of a calculated effort to diversify its AI portfolio.

This change coincides with the South Korean tech behemoth's efforts to give its Galaxy phones more AI choices for consumers.

Although Gemini AI is currently available on Samsung's devices thanks to their collaboration with Google.

The business is eager to investigate different AI options, though, in order to lessen its reliance on one supplier.

Samsung's mobile division's president and chief operating officer, Choi Won-Joon, said: "We are talking to multiple vendors." "We are open to any AI agent out there as long as these agents can deliver the best user experiences and are competitive."

Additionally, according to sources, Samsung and Perplexity had advanced discussions in June, and a possible agreement was imminent.

Perplexity's services would have been preinstalled on Samsung phones under the proposed agreement, and its search capabilities would have been incorporated into the Bixby assistant and the Samsung Internet Browser.

The tech giant's resolve to provide better user experiences is demonstrated by its pursuit of alliances with several AI suppliers.

Samsung hopes to give Galaxy S26 users more freedom and choice by providing a variety of AI options, enabling them to choose the AI model that best meets their requirements.

This strategic move is probably going to have a big impact on the tech sector as the AI landscape continues to change.

The company is well-positioned to further establish itself as a market leader in smartphones, with its sights set on providing innovative AI solutions.
