In light of the persistently increasing integration of OLED technology on modern laptops, it appears that the tech giant Apple is hopping on the bandwagon.

A recent report from Omdia, a market analyst, suggests that Apple is “highly likely” to be adding an OLED display to one of its flagship products: MacBook Pro.

Previously, Apple had only made this technology available to the new iPad Pro, however, based on current market trends, the tipster believes that Apple is set to further enhance its contribution to this industry.

While plans are already in place to extend this feature over to the iPad Pro and iPad Mini, there's much anticipation that the MacBook Pro series could receive similar treatment as early as 2026.

OLED panels can individually control each pixel, thereby producing more vivid colours including deeper blacks, far richer than the average screen. Moreover, OLEDs feature superior contrasts, better viewing angles, faster response times and greater design flexibility.

Reports indicate that Samsung has already begun production of OLED panels for the iPad Mini. Last year, the company supposedly invested $3.14 billion in its facility in Asan, South Korea, to facilitate the production of panels for MacBook Pros.

It isn’t yet certain what orientation the new MacBook Pro could feature, though, with it being the brightest, Apple may select the Tandem OLED display just as it did for the iPad Pro.

It should be noted that the development around the incorporation of OLED displays has stemmed from a reliable analyst, and Apple has not officially disclosed the matter yet, leaving Mac enthusiasts to speculate.
