In line with Pakistan's remarkable strides towards technological advancement, TikTok has launched its dedicated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) feed in Pakistan, in collaboration with the IT and education ministries.
The separate STEM feed has been designed to enhance digital learning, creating a curated in-app experience where users will solely consume high-quality content focused on STEM subjects.
The feed is anticipated to ignite curiosity, promote critical thinking, and expand educational opportunities for students, educators, and young professionals across Pakistan.
On the sidelines of crafting a scientific education-oriented content feed, TikTok is also reportedly partnering with some well-known academic institutions to develop a training programme for teachers and instructors in an effort to foster Pakistan’s local STEM creator community.
Fahad Mohammad Khan Niazi, head of public policy at TikTok, stated, “The launch of the TikTok STEM feed in Pakistan marks an exciting milestone in our mission to inspire and educate through creativity.” This initiative is expected to play a vital role in transforming STEM education in the digital age.
State Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted that this initiative is parallel to the government's vision to utilise digital platforms for youth's upskilling in tech education.
This effort will provide training and guidance to enhance the volume and quality of STEM content available in English, Urdu, and regional languages.
