A recent report from a Korean supply chain has revealed that Apple will be delaying the release of the standard iPhone 18, now targeted for the first half of 2027.

This news comes as Apple has stated that it is launching its first foldable iPhone next year and realigning its product line in a significant way.

According to the rumours, Apple has recently notified its suppliers of the modified roadmap. The iPhone 17 will officially introduce changes to Apple’s entry-level iPhone configuration.

Although the timing of the launch has also changed, Apple still intends to offer iPhone models in the entry-level and mid-range segments. This year the company will release the entry-level iPhone e-model and the standard entry-level in the first half of the year from 2027.

The second half of the year will then feature the flagship iPhone products, including the iPhone Air, Pro, Pro Max and the foldable iPhone.

The first part of next year will see a somewhat similar release schedule with the launch of the iPhone 17e in the first half of 2026, followed by releases of the iPhone 18 Air, Pro, Pro Max and foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026.

The standard iPhone is staying on track for 2027, just with the increased releases of up to six models a year.

Reportedly, it is believed that this move is designed to balance Apple’s growing iPhone family. By spreading launches across the year, Apple could sustain sales momentum, giving each product—from budget models to premium foldables—its own spotlight.

The strategy also highlights Apple’s effort to enter the foldable market without crowding its already competitive second-half launch cycle.
