Flyadeal, Saudi Arabia's low-cost airline, is expanding in Pakistan with four new international routes in August. Between August 24 and 26, Flyadeal will start flights from Riyadh to Islamabad, Peshawar, and Sialkot, and from Dammam to Karachi.
These new routes more than double the number of Pakistani cities Flyadeal operates in currently.
The flights will operate two to three times per week on Airbus A320s, which greatly aids travelers, especially Pakistani expats in Saudi Arabia, to be able to afford to travel back and forth.
Flyadeal entered the Pakistan market in February of this year with flights from Jeddah and Riyadh to Karachi.
This expansion is part of Flyadeal's wider expansion as it builds on its international network to align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Flyadeal CEO Steven Greenway highlighted the company's aspirations of having 50% of its total flight network of international guest destinations in the coming years.
One of the new routes is Riyadh–Sialkot, which is unserved, so Flyadeal will have a first-mover advantage when it starts operating this route on August 26.
However, Flyadeal will be competing against Saudia, Airblue, Flynas, PIA, and Serene Air on its other routes.
The move comes as demand continues to rise in the Saudi Arabia–Pakistan aviation market, driven by labour migration, religious travel, and growing economic ties.
In 2024, nearly 5.9 million people travelled between the two countries, and that number is still rising. Pakistan is now the third-largest international market for Saudi Arabia.
Flyadeal operates a fleet of 41 Airbus A320 aircraft and has plans to grow to 98 planes over the next four years, supporting even more international flights.
