Following a brief pause led by a component's quality issue, the Pixel 9a has finally been made available in the US, but there's a quirk.
The biggest catch is that while you get to choose from a wide range of four tempting colour options, the options get shallow depending on what storage configuration you're going to opt for.
As it stands, it means that although the latest Pixel variant has made it to another country, Pixel enthusiasts can still not get their hands on Google’s midrange smartphone as they please, Android Authority reported.
The Pixel 9a starts at $499 for the 128GB model and $599 if you go for 256GB storage, and its four charming colours include the classic Obsidian (black), soft Porcelain (off-white), calming Iris (light purple), and the eye-catching Peony (pink.
If you're more into Peony or Porcelain, bear in mind that you’ll have to make do with the 128GB trim, as those two shades aren’t available with 256GB in the US.
On the other hand, if you're of the bigger storage type, then you're confined to choose from Iris or Obsidian only.
While this limitation makes the pill hard to swallow, Google makes amends with a lot more than what pissed you off: Pixel 9a comes with a larger display, a redesigned camera system, and the biggest Pixel battery yet,
Regarding the future availability of more storage configurations for more colours, Google has not yet made an official announcement.
