Iran Air on Wednesday launched its first-ever flight operation to Quetta, which marks the beginning of the airline's new chapter in the capital of Balochistan.

Iran Air's flight no 826 (A319), which was operating on the Mashhad-Zahedan-Quetta route, landed at Quetta International Airport with a ceremonial water cannon salute.

To celebrate this moment, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) hosted an inaugural ceremony, in which Governor of Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel defined the new flight as 'a significant milestone' in boosting bilateral ties, trade, and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Iran.

During the ceremony, the governor remarked: "This flight not only improves people-to-people connectivity but also opens new avenues for tourism, pilgrimage, and commerce."

It should be noted that Iran Air flight 826 will now operate once weekly — every Wednesday — arriving in Quetta at 9:30pm. You will now be able to easily travel to Iran with a comfortable travel experience.

In his remarks, the Consul General of Iran reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to boosting deeper economic and social links with Pakistan, particularly through improved transport and communication channels.

According to a CAA spokesperson, the event was 'a proud moment for Quetta International Airport' as the new service is expected to facilitate religious pilgrims, business travellers, and families on both sides of the border.
