The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) on Thursday announced plans to launch 47 new co-working spaces across Pakistan during the current financial year.
Officials said the ministry had successfully established 40 co-working centres last year and now intends to expand the total number to 250 by February 2027 under a phased plan.
The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) is leading the national rollout of the Pakistan National Co-working Space Project (NCSP), a component of the prime minister's initiatives on IT startups, specialised digital training, and venture capital access.
Qualifying public and private sector entities establishing NCSP centres will receive an interest-free loan of up to Rs10 million through partner banks.
Government officials shared that the previously known e-Rozgar Centers have been rebranded to NCSP to avoid confusion with a similar Punjab government initiative.
Unlike the provincial programme, this project will be built on a public-private partnership model, where all costs are jointly supported by the public and private sectors. Trainers will coach entrepreneurs and freelancers, developing their capacity, collaboration, and sustainable enterprises.
Each NCSP centre will be tailored to local market needs and will differ in size based on the level of economic activity in that city. Large urban centres would prefer large spaces of at least 100 seats for seasoned professionals.
For smaller urban communities, NCSP centres would be utilised for entrepreneurial learning and mentor support for the business.
It is important to note that November 3, 2025, is the deadline for interested applicants to apply through the EPADS portal.
